When you don’t feel like spending ages making a dessert from scratch, this ready-to-go mix saves you lots of bother. Making it easy to whip up a luxurious chocolate cake, complete with chocolate ganache, filling and topping, most of the hard work’s already been done for you.

Easy to use

Just pour the mix into a mixing bowl, then combine oil (50ml), water (95ml) and an egg together in a jug before slowly adding to the mix while mixing slowly (an electric mixer makes this easier than doing it by hand) until everything is a consistent texture.

Pour the mix into an 8” (20cm) round baking tin and put into your oven at 170°C for about 20 minutes.

When your cake is baked, remove it from the oven and leave to cool while you make the ganache. And this bit’s really easy – pour the ganache sachet into a bowl and stir with a spoon until it’s spreadable.

Finally, cut the cooled cake in half and spread the ganache on top of both halves before sandwiching together, putting the kettle on and serving up the cake with a ‘look what I’ve made’ flourish.
