Perfect for proving

Until now, you’ve made do with a tea towel or sheet of cling film over your bowl, but Mason Cash have designed a lid that’s perfect for proving your dough. Just turn the stone so the unglazed side faces down, and pop it over any bowl that’s 29cm Dia. or smaller. It’ll form a seal, allowing dough to rise nicely without you having to reach for any single-use bowl covers or fiddly cling film.

Unglazed surface for baking

Made using traditional terracotta, the unglazed interior baking surface absorbs liquid and draws moisture away from the surface of your bread dough while it bakes, resulting in a crisper crust on your loaf. Ooh, pass us the butter!
